‘Revival is a lifestyle,’ asserts Rev Dr Lama
Aizuto, March 15 (MExN): The Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (SBAK) Sümi Christian Centre Aizuto organised a two-day revival crusade on the theme ‘Revive Us O Lord’ at the Sümi Christian Centre Aizüto on March 14 and 15.
An update received here stated that the speaker, Rev Dr AK Lama, former General Secretary of CBCNEI, delivered messages, inspiring attendees to renew their faith and spiritual commitment. He urged the congregation to join the venture to work for the glory and gospel of God, extending His Kingdom to reach the unreached people. “There is so much to be done,” he emphasised.
“Revival crusade is not an event or a programme; revival is a lifestyle,” Rev Dr Lama said and added that he wants to see the congregation continue this lifestyle in the days to come.
Emphasising the role of the church in continuing the revival crusade, Rev Dr Lama said, “The Church plays a very important role. When I say ‘church,’ I’m not talking about the building; I’m talking about the people who come together to the church on every Sunday.” He stressed that the church congregation has a vital role in continuing this revival and taking responsibility.
Rev Dr Lama reminded the congregation that God is omnipresent. “Church is not only a secret place, but you can pray anywhere, anytime. He is present everywhere because God is omnipresent.” He emphasised that prayer is a discipline that one submits to God, urging the congregation not to be self-centered but to trust God and pray for His Kingdom’s works.
“Revival is not going to be easy; it is a demand from you, a demand of your faith,” Rev Dr Lama asserted. “If you always sit comfortably in your chair, how will you see the miracles?” He cited the example of Jesus’ disciples, who witnessed a miracle when they sat together with Jesus in the boat during a storm.
Rev Dr Lama shared his life testimony, narrating how his life changed on October 24, 1983, when the Word of God struck him. He returned to his father and asked for permission to start a Bible study at home. Despite initial hesitation, his father eventually joined the prayer meeting, and Rev. Dr. Lama experienced miracles in his life.
“If you have experienced miracles in your life, you will speak on behalf of God and be a messenger of God, having confidence and being a true prophet,” Rev Dr Lama concluded.
Rev Dr Daniel Chishi, Executive Secretary of SBAK Aizuto, served as the translator for the event. Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) led the praise and worship with Hymnal Songs at the Revival Crusade. Pastor Daniel Muru of Satoi Town Baptist Church chaired the afternoon session.
