MLA Er Picto Shohe addressing the 9th Sunday School Conference of SBAK Aizüto on January 15.

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The 9th Sunday School Conference of the Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (SBAK Aizüto) culminated on January 15 at Vekuho Old Baptist Church.

A press release received here on Monday informed that MLA Er Picto Shohe addressed the programme and said that the Sümis have many capable theologian leaders and at this juncture, they are among those leaders who uplift the name of the Sümi tribe.

He stated that before he joined the politics, he was the Executive Council Member for one term under Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu (WSBAK) and later served as Chairman Executive Council for another term. He represented WSBAK to Sümi Baptist Convention SBC for two terms. He was also the member of Nagaland Baptist Church of Council (NBCC) for two terms.

He further maintained that he has experience in both the church organizations and politics; so while analyzing he can compare that the theologians are far more advanced than the politicians among the Sümis, while citing various examples of Sümis presently serving under various Church related leadership positions.

He said that church leaders ‘are the rescuers of the sinners’ and peace makers and therefore, they should not draw back from correcting the politicians, civil society organizations, freedom fighters etc.

While encouraging the church leaders, he stressed on children ministry and said that the children are ‘our tomorrow,’ and that they will bear fruit according to how we mould them. The world is focusing on children ministry because if we can correct the children today, the next generation can witness the peaceful world tomorrow, he maintained.

He also reflected on his days in the Sunday School and maintained that the teaching that ‘Jesus is the only way,’ is the only key to success and where he is at present.
