SBCD youth ministry initiates Bible writing project 2025

Dimapur, September 15 (MExN): With the aim of encouraging young people to read the Bible, the Youth Ministry of Sümi Baptist Church Diphupar has launched “Bible Writing Project 2025.” Altogether 66 youths volunteered to participate in writing the Bible.

According to the organisers, all the participants admitted to having been blessed and encouraged in the process of writing the Bible. The powerful words of the Bible and the inspiring work of the Holy Spirit continued to speak and encourage the youths during the writing process. Many also acknowledged that it was an opportunity to learn and explore the rich Sümi dialect.

While interacting with the writers on their experience with the project, one of the youths commented, “Each verse I wrote drew me closer to God, filling me with joy, strength, and a deeper faith.” Another writer shared, “While writing the story of Samson, something came up to my mind, I was afraid of lions until Samson killed one, now I fear what killed Samson.”

Assistant Youth Pastor Mughakhi Zhimo said that the project commenced in January 2025, where each writer was assigned to write 18 chapters which eventually covers 1,189 chapters of the Bible. The handwritten Bible will be bound together and donated to the Department of Youth Ministry, WSBAK.

The youth ministry acknowledged all the writers, and a prayer of blessing was bestowed by Youth Pastor Qhetoni Achumi.
