SBI Foundation & AIDA launches relief distribution prog

Dimapur, June 18 (MExN): The SBI Foundation through its Gram Seva and ANMA (Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh) Integrated Development Association (AIDA) launched COVID-19 relief distribution programme at Diezephe village.

Lohuo Besü, Chief Manager of SBI, Tuensang in the presence of the AIDA staff and village elders, distributed the dry ration to the needy families of the village of Diezephe and Tsithrongse, according to a press release from PRO, AIDA-Don Bosco Lawrence Guria on Friday.

Associate Director of AIDA Rev Fr Joseph TT SDB welcomed the chief guest and thanked the SBI Foundation President Lalit Mohan, Managing Director Manjula Kalyansundaram, SBI Gram Seva Project co-ordinator Shiddalingesh and the Project In-charge Prathibha Kumari for their vision to see to the needs of the people in the rural settings. Their vision towards to bring the rural people in self-reliance and growth has made great impact in rural India, the release stated. 

As per the press release, SBI Foundation has adopted five villages in Chümoukedima block, with the aim to enable all-round development and growth through various schemes. The programme was initiated in October 2020.

At the launch programme, Besü stressed on the importance of inculcating the habit of saving and going for digital banking, creativity and innovation in making sustainable goals towards development. He called upon each individual member of the villages to strive towards becoming economically independent, socially relevant, and humanly empathetic.

The dry ration distribution will extend to about 170 needy families of the SBI adopted villages of Nagaland namely Khriezephe, Diezephe, Tsithrongse, Bade and Urra. The dry ration consisted of rice, dal, oil, onions and potatoes, the release stated.
