Kohima, May 9 (MExN): S Deep Agnihotri, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Regional Office Dimapur disclosed that SBI has invested over Rs. 500/- crores in Nagaland and is taking steps to open more branches in remote places.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the newly installed computer laboratory at North Town Higher Secondary School (NTHSS), Chumukedima on May 6.Agnihotri also informed that SBI was extending help in many areas. SBI is financing schools, buildings, computer equipment, books, acquisition of educational equipment, hostels as well as extending educational loans to students. It may be mentioned that the school’s computer laboratory consisting of fifteen computers and other peripherals has been financed by SBI Rangapahar, Dimapur.
He also emphasized on imparting proper education to children in this competitive world. He maintained that many avenues are available for people equipped with computer knowledge to work as system and computer analysts or as computer engineers. A Dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Neivotso Neikha, Mission Director North East India CRC.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by K. Arun Singh, Managing Director of Karam Enterprise Dimapur, Er. K. Kruse, Chairman of the Managing Board, the Chairman of Tenyiphe II village and Holto Kin on behalf of the parents.
Vote of thanks was tendered by Principal of the school BB Chetri. The function was chaired by the Headmaster Ashuli Joseph Mao.
