SBI officers in Dimapur urged to be ‘passionate about work’

Dimapur, February 23 (MExN): The Regional Conference of State Bank of India Officers’ Association, SBIOA (NEC) was held for the first time in Dimapur at Don Bosco Institute for Development and Leadership (DBIDL), Dimapur on February 22.

Addressing the gathering, the former General Secretary of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) Dr DT Franco, who started his career in SBI as clerk and posted in Tuensang in 1978, said that back then only few Naga workforces were in the officer group.

Today, he observed, the Naga personnel employed in SBI have considerably increased. He urged the officers to reach out to the community, collaborate with the customers in fighting for common cause and to come up with developmental plan for Nagaland to bring positive change.

Motivational Speaker and Trainer, RZIM Life Focus Society, Dr Kethoser Kevichüsa also speaking at the conference dwelt on how to live a purposeful life and to be passionate about work. Taking note of the fact that most of the employees in the banking sector are under stress, Dr Kevichüsa said, “if there is no passion, then all oxygen is sucked out of one’s life and therefore, it was important to be passionate about work.”

Dr Kevichüsa also spoke on the “six passion killers” that needed to be addressed in order to lead a purposeful life. According to him, the “six passion killers” are un-balanced time; un-used talent; un-confessed transgression; un-resolved tension; unsupportive team; and un-clear purpose.

He called upon the officers to be in communion with God and not to forget one’s conscience, as at the end of the day it is conscience and character that will make a difference.

Others who spoke at the conference include Rupam Roy, General Secretary, SBIOA (NEC), TAP Paul, vice president SBIOA (NEC), Ramesh Hasnu, President, NCBE Nagaland unit, Jagadish Ch Paul, DGS, SBIOA (NEC) Jorhat and President SBIOA Dimapur Region Gwanile Rengma.

According to a press release from the SBIOA Dimapur Region the conference was attended by members from Jakhama, Pfütsero, Peren, Jalukie and Kohima and Dimapur. Currently there are 184 members in SBIOA Dimapur region.

Earlier at the business session, the house elected TL Lango Neikha as the new Regional Secretary of SBIOA Dimapur Region and Vewupe Doulo as the Assistant Regional Secretary and Robert Tungoe as Executive Member of SBIOA (NEC), Dimapur Region.
