SCAs trained on ‘Soil sample collection and analysis’

Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): With the objective of improving and updating skills in modern techniques of soil testing, analysis and its interpretation, two day training on ‘Soil sample collection and analysis’ was organised by the Department of Soil & Water Conservation at the Directorate’s Soil testing laboratory for Soil Conservation Assistants (SCA) on June 26 and 27.  

The training programme started with inaugural session chaired by Lochumi Venuh, Deputy Director and Schematic In-Charge Soil Survey and Testing Wing.  

It was stated in a press release here that Viliehu Nguzhü, Additional Director and HOD in his opening remarks exhorted the participants to make the most of the training and further encouraged them to be attentive, sincere and have the curiosity to learn.  

A brief note on the importance and objectives of the training was delivered by Kum Khroteu Ritse, Soil Survey Officer.  

The training was detailed with hands on experience to the participants besides demonstrations. The resource persons were officials from the Department.   SCAs from the districts of Kiphire, Peren and Dimapur attended the training, the other districts being covered in similar training programmes earlier.
