TUENSANG, JULY 13 (MExN): Sao Chang College, Tuensang, held an orientation programme for its new batch of B.A. and B.Sc. first semester students, focusing on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, academic guidelines, and student welfare.
The programme, held at the college multipurpose hall, was chaired by Assistant Professor of Sociology Y. Toninaro Chongpho.
Principal Dr Lanurenla delivered the welcome address, highlighting the college’s vision and commitment to holistic education.
Vice Principal Dr T. Lal Veda Chandra Kumar spoke on college rules, academic structure, and examination protocols, while Tekameren Walling from the Botany Department introduced students to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).
A. Chubasangla Chang briefed students on support systems through the Grievances and Internal Complaints Committee, and the PTA coordinator emphasised the role of parental involvement in student welfare.
Librarian Mantok Konyak provided an overview of library facilities and services available to students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the chairperson. Attendance was mandatory for all first semester students along with a parent or guardian, officials said.
The orientation aimed to familiarise students with academic and campus life, ensuring a positive start to their college journey and fostering stronger ties between the institution and the community, they added.
