SCC organize seminar on scope of entrepreneurship in floriculture

DIMAPUR, MAY 3 (MExN): Sao Chang College, Tuensang under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme on May 2 organized a seminar on ‘Scope of Entrepreneurship in Floriculture’ at the College Conference Hall.

A press release received from media cell, Sao Chang College informed that 20 participants each from the four major tribes under 3rd NAP Saksi Sector, Tuensang were invited as participants. The resource persons for the seminar were R. Akila Rothrong, Sub- Divisional Agriculture Officer, Longkhim and Arenla Sangtam, a local flower grower and successful entrepreneur. 

R. Akila Rothrong in her speech conveyed her appreciation to the college for organizing such an event. She highlighted the various means and ways of starting business in floriculture. She also added that one should be willing to work hard and be determined in order to be a successful entrepreneur.

Arenla Sangtam, a successful flower grower, had been involved in flower growing business since 1998. She narrated about the struggles that she had to undergo during her initial days. After her initial struggle, she is now an established entrepreneur in flower business all due to the fact that she was persistent and dedicated in her profession.

The programme was chaired by Bumat Wongto of B.A 6th Semester. Introduction of the resource persons was done by Mongshai Shiu of B.A 6th Semester. Vote of thanks was proposed by Akyuba Sangtam, Assistant Professor and Convenor of the Seminar.
