DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE) held its Graduation Day ceremony for the 2022–2025 batch on July 25 at the Paul Bernick Auditorium, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s academic calendar.
The event began at 10 AM with an invocation by Fr Dr Elow Samuel, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Graduates, faculty, families, and guests gathered to celebrate the occasion.
Rev Dr Fr Paul Punü, Principal of SCHE, delivered the welcome address, congratulating the graduates and extending his best wishes. Heads of Departments then read out the names of graduating students and conferred medals in recognition of their academic performance.
Chunsen Matey, the top scorer in History at Nagaland University, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduating batch. She shared her academic journey, thanked her parents, faculty and friends, and encouraged her peers to pursue excellence, quoting her personal motto: “In all that you do, do it well.”
Prof Dr Zavise Rume, who attended as guest of honour, delivered the keynote address. Emphasising the importance of skill-based education, he said literacy in today’s world should include practical knowledge and abilities. “Smile always,” he said, calling it a reflection of inner peace and happiness. He further stressed the role of teachers as “the heart of learning” and highlighted compassion and empathy as essential qualities in education.
During the programme, the guest of honour also released the annual college magazine, showcasing academic and extracurricular achievements of the institution.
Sr. Mercy, Vice Principal of the college, delivered the vote of thanks, urging graduates to move ahead with courage and faith. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the College Anthem and a communal meal. Approximately 70 students graduated during the event.
