Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu today inaugurated four newly constructed building infrastructures at Zuketsa under Phek District.
It included school building of Government High School Zuketsa, strengthening of existing school building, GA Rest House and Tribal Hostel Building.
Addressing the gathering, Kronu was appreciative of the quality construction for the benefit and welfare of the students and public at large.
Whatever amount was provided has been used judiciously, he maintained and lauded the contractors for exercising sincerity and honesty towards completion of the projects.
Kronu told the public to do away with pending and price escalation system of the projects, which often narrows down the state exchequer.
Stating that a good school building has been provided, he called upon the public to make effort to increase the level of students’ enrolment in the government school.
He cautioned that low volume of enrolment would result in discontinuation or merger of schools as per the policy of the education department.
Stating that peaceful environment and unity is a prerequisite for all round development, he also appealed the public to cooperate with the government and stay connected with the various developmental packages.
Speaking on the high scope of agricultural related activities within Zuketsa area, he assured that the government will continue to give special attention towards strengthening of agri and allied activities across Nagaland.
Also bringing cheers to the commuters, Kronu assured repairing and maintenance of Viswema-Zuketsa road till Pfutsero, adding that the process will start by December.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director Samagra Shiksha Nagaland stressed on the need for increasing the enrollment of students in government schools saying that government appoints the best qualified teachers.
He said that under the Right to Education Act, the government has been opening schools in all the villages so as to provide quality education to students.
Appreciating the judicious use of the fund in construction of RCC structured school buildings at Zuketsa, he said enrolment has to improve both in the school and hostel to avail more developmental funds.
Earlier, the function was led by Chakhesang Public Organisation president Mikha Kenye while welcome address was delivered by Zuketsa Area Public Organisation (ZAPO) president Sabou Krome.
Vote of thanks was proposed by ZAPO finance secretary Kedoutsolhi Wetsah.
