Pfütsero, March 22 (MExN): The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Phek organised School Health Programme on the role of AYUSH (National Ayush Mission) at Tewelhi Medo Tyrannus (TMT) Hr. Sec. School, Pfütsero on March 17. Dr. Sabina, Medical Officer of AYUSH, Phek was the resource person. In her session, she highlighted few herbs and plants which can be used as medicine for anemia, anorexia, bad breath, chapped lips, common cold, cough, dandruff, pimple mark, dysentery, conjunctivitis etc, informed a press release.
The programme ended with yoga demonstration by Kelhouzasie Lawrence. Yoga, he said, is not a religious practice but a group of physical, mental and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. He asked the students and staff not to have wrong concept about it but to embrace it as an exercise to be done daily.
Earlier, the Principal, Reynald Pyngrope thanked the department for organising such programme. Stating that AYUSH has become a part and parcel of the health care in the present society, he stressed on the use of herbs available around the locality for treatment of any sickness.
Arms and weapons display
Meanwhile, arms and weapons display and motivation lecture was held at TMT Hr. Sec. School, Pfütsero on March 20 with Captain Anand Thakur, Post Commander, A-Coy 9th Assam Rifles, Pfütsero as a resource person. In his address, Captain Anand lauded the school authority for allowing them to conduct such programme. He briefly explained the weapons and their functions to all the students from Class I till Class XII. The motivation lecture dwelled on the role of Indian Army and their functions, the release said. The students were informed about the criteria of joining the Indian Army and different facilities the Army provides.
