School of Nursing DHD holds 7th graduation ceremony

Dimapur, October 18 (MExN): School of Nursing District Hospital Dimapur held its 7th Graduation cum late Ketsovole Kire’s 21st award ceremony at Chapel Hall, District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) on October 18. Altogether 28 GNM students graduated this year from SON DHD, stated a press release received here.

The programme was graced by Dr E Motsuthung Patton Principal Director DOH&FW Nagaland. He encouraged the GNM graduates to work with dedication and humility without any discrimination of tribes, caste, creed and religion. Family members of late Ketsovole Kire awarded the 21st award to Lolanbeni N A Erui: Since 2002 late Ketsovole Kire Award has been awarded to GNM students in Nagaland in recognition of academic excellence by her family members. 

Former Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland K Kire spoke on the occasion and shared that this award is a legacy of his mother to encourage the GNM students to excel in their practice, skill and knowledge. DR. K. Toska Sumi Assistant Medical Superintendent DHD emphasized the importance of virtues needed in a nurse i.e. resilience, hope and compassion in his exhortation. 

The programme was chaired by Limasungla Aier Nursing Tutor SOPN DHD which was started with an invocation prayer by Dr N Moa Jamir, welcome address by Bendangnaro, Principal SON DHD. Guest and delegates were acknowledged by Noneile, Nursing Suptd DHD. Special song was presented by 3rd yr GNM students, graduation ceremony was conducted by Kepelhoutseiu Suohu, Dy Director Nursing H&FW after which Rev Yhunlo Thong Chaplain DHD prayed for the graduates. 

A short speech was given by the awardee Lolanbeni NA Erui. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nolasanu, Vice Principal SON DHD and mass prayer.
