PEREN, APRIL 25 (MExN): Forest Department, Peren Division, organized World Earth Day in Peren with the theme “Green Cities” on April 22. Students and teachers of Baptist English School and All Saints Higher Secondary School Peren participated in the celebration.
Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Peter Lichamo, in his speech, encouraged students to participate in conservation and protection of forest for the survival of human kind. While distributing eco-club funds to the school eco-clubs under Peren Range, the DC reminded the State government’s declaration of Peren district as green district, and further appealed to the public of Peren district to plant more seedlings in the existing forest. Branch Manager, State Bank of India, Peren declared Green Pledge during the function.
Meanwhile, Divisional Forest Officer Peren in his keynote address spoke about the importance of the Earth Day and the necessity of sustainable forest management.
Dr. Senthil Kumar, IFS, DFO, Peren Division, Jalukie, in a press release has requested the remaining schools who have not received the eco-club fund to collect it from the DFO Office during office hours.
