
Dimapur, May 18 (MExN): With a view towards knowing the grievances of the school students and teachers of Shamator village, the Shamator Village Students Union (SVSU) officially visited educational institutions within their jurisdiction on May 13.
A press release issued by SVSU President, Yanrukiu S Tikir and Joint Secy, K Khupanthong stated that during the visits, the union discovered the shortage of teachers as well as lack of basic facilities in many schools.
It claimed that the Department of School Education (DoSE) deployed two teachers at GMS, Shamator village on March 30 but one G/T teacher has been retained at the same place on May 16. Besides, Ruthla P/T who served 19 years of her service at GMS Shamator village is being transferred unofficially to GMSS, Yakor Village without the knowledge of SMC Shamator Village, it maintained.
The SVSU also alleged that other discrepancies such as ‘non availability of computers, no solar facilities and schools running without peon and chowkidar at GMS Shamator village,’ were observed as well.
In this regard, the union urged the DoSE to look into the matter on priority and deploy employees for the betterment of the students.
