Schools without science & maths teachers

STKK issues ultimatum to DoSE

Saptiqa, August 22 (MExN): The Saptiqa Area Students' Union (STKK) today stated that the lone Government High School Saptiqa (GHS) and the Usutomi Government Middle School (GMS) have been functioning without science and math teachers for the past 2 years.

Accordingly, the union has served an ultimatum on August 22 to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education (DoSE) urging the  Department to “immediately redress our cries within 14 working days” from the official date of communication.

As per the union, as many as three letters have been written to the DoSE appealing for “immediate redressal.”

“Despite the repeated appeals made to the Department to 'Revoke the transfer of teachers with post' or 'Replace the teachers on their stead', the Department turned a deaf ear to our pleas which shows the lackadaisical attitude towards our community,” it stated.

With no solution in sight, the STKK deliberated the issue on August 20 wherein, it decided to serve ultimatum to the Department.

The union will be forced to take action, through democratic means, if the Department fails to comply with the appeal, added the STKK’s ultimatum to the DoSE, appended by its President, Jevi Kinni Hesso and General Secretary, Pito Swu.
