Sci-math exposition cum art & craft exhibition in Kohima

Students visit stalls during the ‘Sci-Math Exposition cum Art and Craft Exhibition’ at the MITE Auditorium, Kohima on July 18.

Kohima, July 19 (MExN): The Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) organized a ‘Sci-Math Exposition cum Art and Craft Exhibition’ at the college Auditorium on July 18. 

The Sci-Math Exposition was organized by the students of the Science and Math pedagogy, with the aim of promoting interest in learning mathematics and science so also enhancing the subjects through practical demonstrations.

The Art and Craft exhibition was conducted as part of the CE-1 Nai Talim course by the Semester-2 Student-Teachers. Keeping the theme of community usability and sustainability in mind, the Student-Teachers presented display of home-made crafts varying from items such as wooden utensils, decors, vase, woolen hats, tote bags, aprons, scrunchies, hair clips, jewelleries to papier-mache, pen stands, origami art, key-chains, brooms, etc all made from available materials at home. The purpose of the exhibition was to encourage handicraft skills and foster practice of recycling and reusing. 

MITE, Principal, Dr Kate Dandesh Kumar in a press release stated that around 500 students from Modern Higher Secondary School, Mt Sinai Higher Secondary School and Little Flower Higher Secondary School took part in the event.
