DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 3 (MExN): MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero inaugurated the 61st annual school sports week and science stream at Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero.
MLA, Dr Neisatuo Mero, during the inauguration of the Science stream at Government Hr. Secondary School Pfutsero, emphasized that education is crucial for the all-round development of an individual. He highlighted Pfutsero's serene and peaceful environment, rich with natural blessings, making it an ideal place for students' education.
Dr Mero drew inspiration from the life of the legendary sprinter, Milkha Singh, who despite the challenges of being separated from his parents during the India-Pakistan partition, achieved greatness and won gold medals in the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. He also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his commitment to school upgrades and Advisor School Education Dr Kekhrie Yhome for introducing the science stream. He thanked former Minister Neiba Kronu for his initiatives in this regard.
The programme was chaired by Agumle Lungalang, PG, with Vechikhiye Lohe, Principal, presenting the welcome note, and Rev Dr Tshulingupe Kapfo invoking God's blessings.
