SCMI to organize natl prog in Nagaland

Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI) will be organizing its first ever National programme in Nagaland which is the XXV General Committee on the theme “Blessed are those in the margins, for they will inherit the earth: Challenges for the students communities” from June 1 to 4 at Ao Jubilee Memorial Centre, Kohima.
Some of the concerns and issues to be discussed during the programme are “Groaning of the Earth, Struggles of Tribals, Adivasis and Dalits in reclaiming Land and Identity, Environmental concerns, etc”.

The Student Christian Movement of India is an International Fellowship which is a member of the World Student Federation (WSF). It is an Ecumenical Fellowship where students from all church traditions and people of other faiths come together for inclusive partnership with Christian principles. The present concerns of SCMI are Human Rights, Gender Issues, Campaigns against Privatization of Water, Dalits, Adivasis and Tribal Issues, Economic Globalizations, Interfaith Relations, Science and Religion, Leadership Training and Development programmes etc. This has been stated in a pres note received here.
