Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): SCN Thonburi emerged champions of the inaugural Junkyard Senior Cup, defeating league leaders Slim Fit FC in the decisive Matchweek 10 fixture of the closed-league tournament.
Held every Friday over a period of more than two months, the competition at Junkyard Turf, Padumpukhuri, open to players aged 30 and above, providing a platform not only for veteran footballers but also for enthusiasts seeking the thrill of competitive play. The tournament began on June 6 and concluded on August 8, featuring six teams: Ajanak FC, Belly Burners FC, Frenzy Shooters, Almost Young FC, SCN Thonburi, and Slim Fit FC.
SCN Thonburi secured the title with 25 points, ahead of Slim Fit FC on 22 points. Khanji of Frenzy Shooters claimed the Golden Boot award with 15 goals, including an extraordinary six-goal performance in the final match.
