SCPB ‘B’ condemns AR raid

DIMAPUR, MAY 14 (mexn): The Sumi Community Purana Bazaar ‘B’ (SCPB ‘B’) today condemned what it termed was the “unwarranted intrusion and search at odd hours” by 32 Assam Rifles, in the residences of Pastor of Sumi Baptist Church, Purana Bazaar ‘B’ and Kilonser, Toivi Aye, Steering Committee Member of NSCN (IM) on May 13 at Purana Bazaar ‘B,’ Dimapur.

A press note from the SCPB ‘B’ informed that the search was conducted at 3:00am in the morning “thereby terrorising the innocent children and family of the two.” “Such action by the para military forces deserves outright condemnation from all right thinking citizens since the unwarranted search was carried out during ceasefire period between the Government of India and NSCN (IM),” it added.

The SCPB ‘B’ further stated that the incident has created fear in the minds of the two families “who no more feel safe even within the confines of their homes.”

“Even as no substantial incriminating documents were found during the dawn raid, the AR apprehended Toivi Aye from his home as if the mental torture and fear created was not enough. Therefore, in the most strongest terms, we condemn the actions of the 32 AR,” it added.
