Phek Village, May 19 (MExN): Under the initiative of the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Phek, Samuel, the Director of the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Nagaland, Nyusietho Nyuthe along with the Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) team visited the 3½ year old child at his grandparents’ residence, in Phek Village on May 18.
According to a press statement issued by CMA, President Zaposhelu Venuh, the boy who was tortured by her step mother Mulevolu Vero by afflicting with ignitable item on hands and leg some months back was undergoing medical treatment and was now taken care by his real mother and grandparents.
Visiting the victim boy, the SCPS director, Nyusietho Nyuthe expressed dismay over the unexpected incident and encouraged the family members to take up the incident as a positive challenge in their family lives.
Bestowing the boy with financial assistance, Nyuthe directed the DCPO, Phek to take proper care of the boy and extend all possible help from the society ends.
Expressing happiness at CMA for coming out firmly in condemning the dastardly act and disseminating information to the public domain, Nyuthe expressed optimism that proper care and support will be given to the boy so that he overcomes the trauma underwent.
The CMA, while appreciating the SCPS director and DCPO, Phek for initiating the humanity service to the victim boy both in cash and words and prayed that God the Almighty bless them abundantly. The CMA also wished the boy a speedy recovery of his health.
