SCSU to act as watchdog for village development

Mon, June 13 (MExN): The Sheanghah Chingnyu Students' Union (SCSU), Mon today expressed dismay that the progress of the village, ranging from various infrastructural development to the growth of educational sector are “stagnant.”

SCSU, President, Nockyam Wangnao and General Secretary, Honman Wangsa in a press release stated that the Union is deeply pained to notice the manner in which the concerned groups and individuals have carried out the developmental works under various schemes and funds at Sheanghah Chingnyu village.

The SCSU sternly cautioned that “no government official should issue clearance to any party or individual without determining the type of schemes and the quality of work. As per the situation demand and in the interest of the people, the authority of SCSU would act as a watchdog to ensure the developmental activities are carried out qualitatively.”

Meanwhile, SCSU has requested the Power Department to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Sheanghah Chingnyu, since frequent failure of electricity is posing a great problem in the region. The Union also mentioned that not only the local populace but the military personnel based in the border belt shared the same plight.

Therefore, the concerned authority is asked to instruct the employees posted in different villages of the region to work with coordination to give rapid respond when technical failures occurs at different points.
