SD Jain Higher Secondary School celebrates 72nd annual day

Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School, Dimapur celebrated its 72nd annual day at the school auditorium on November 11.
A press release issued by the school Principal, Reji Abraham, Om Prakash Sethi, President of SD Jain Samaj and Marwari Samaj was the guest of honour. The programme started with lighting of Jain Traditional Lamp by the guest of honour and other dignitaries. It was followed by a Jain Manglacharan dance presented by the students of Class 7 to 10.
The guest of honour in his address declared that SD Jain Higher Secondary School will be shifted to a new campus with modern facilities and the works for the same will start from next year. While lauding the school managing committee, principal, and staff members of the school for their hard work in bringing laurels to the school, Sethi told the gathering that Jain Samaj is running different services to the society in the form of School, College and Hospital which is not intend to make any profit.
Ajay Sethi, Secretary, School Managing committee elucidated a brief history of Jain Community in Nagaland. As per the historical records and references from the Samaj elders, that Jain School was in existence since 1920 and the centenary year of the establishment of the school by the Jain Samaj. He urged the members of the Jain Samaj that profit making should not be the only motive, as the Jain samaj is doing a lot for the welfare of the society and “it is time for us to contribute to the nation building. He said that time is changing so is education. The school is always ready to provide best possible facilities to the students to learn better and excel in life.”
Office bearers of Different organizations under Jain Samaj was felicitated on the occasion along with the past committee members of the school, President of Kerala Samaj Nalina Kumar, Mahesh Agarwal Vice President of Agarwal Samaj, Ashuli Joseph from ANPSA Central who were in attendance in the programme.
Special Numbers by the Higher Secondary students, Action Dance by Tiny Tots, Bengali Dance, Nepali Dance, Patriotic Song, Modern Dance, Sumi Naga cultural dance presented by the students enthralled the Parents and guests. HSLC Examination Subject Toppers in the state and winners of competition conducted in the school were awarded on the occasion. Another highlight of the program was the releasing of school annual bulletin ‘Kaleidoscope’ by the guest. Reji Abraham, Principal, presented the school report. Kekhriesenuo Rio of Cass 9 delivered the welcome Address and Mrinalini Chakraborty delivered vote of thanks.
