Dimapur, July 8 (MExN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School, Dimapur celebrated Fresher’s Day on July 7 at the school auditorium to accord a formal welcome to the class 11 students who recently joined the school.
Ajay Sethi, Director of NIIT Dimapur and Secretary of the School Managing Committee in his address to the students advised them that academic excellence is very important and stressed on the need to work hard.
Though the curriculum offered by Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) is at par with rest of the country, he encouraged the students to study outside the syllabus as well to go deep into their preferred subject of specialization in order to succeed in the highly competitive examinations like JEE and NEET, especially by the Science stream students, informed a press release from the school principal, Reji Abraham.
The school principal in his speech meanwhile emphasized to the students the importance of making quick adjustments to live in different environments. “Not only academic excellence is counted to build a successful career but life skills and interpersonal skills are also equally important,” he told them.
Students, he further stated, need to take up their studies passionately and consistently to succeed in their pursuit of achieving their life goals. Reji Abraham also assured the students that the school will always be ready to provide them with any kind of help and guidance they may need in their studies and urged them to choose a right career.
During the programme, each of the new students was given time to introduce themselves and share their experiences and dreams. Students of class 12 hosted the programme with well choreographed dance and song presentations, the release stated.
