Mangkolemba, July 4 (MExN): Around 130 volunteers of Mangkolemba Ao Youth Organization today picketed the office of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO), Mangkolemba to protest the Department and States Government’s failure to act against one of the erring officers.
The officer concerned, a Head Assistant (HA) in the SDEO establishment in Mangkolemba, the organisation said, has failed to join office since his detachment from May 23 from the District Education Office, Kiphire.
The youth organisation’s President, Imjong Longkumer and Asst. Gen. Secretary, Tinuniken Langu in a press note said that it had earlier called off a proposed indefinite picketing of SDEO office after the Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mangkolemba Imtiwapang Aier assured them on behalf of the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland that a disciplinary action will be taken against the HA and a new HA would be allotted.
It also submitted an ultimatum to the Chief Secretary, Nagaland through the Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Mangkolemba demanding disciplinary action be initiated against the “disobedient” HA and also to post one HA to SDEO office, Mangkolemba on or before July 18.
The organisation will take up befitting steps in the event of failure to meet its demands, it added.
