Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): SD Jain Higher Secondary School and G. Mhiasiu School registered wins on the fourth day of the ongoing Dimapur District Inter School Cricket Tournament. The tournament is being organised by the Dimapur District Cricket Academy at the NCA Stadium, Sovima.
SDJHSS beat Little Star Higher Secondary School by 104 runs.
SDJHSS electing to bat managed to put on 196 runs losing all wickets in 25 overs. Sumit Paul led the scoring with 70 runs while Sujal and Hariom chipped in with 23 and 25 runs respectively. For Little Star, Amar and Sumit returned with 3 wickets each while Kunal claimed 2 wickets.
In the run chase, the boys from Little Star were bundled out for 92 in 18 overs – short by 104 runs. Vishal was the only batsman to offer some sort of resistance with 35 runs as the SDJHSS bowlers picked wickets at random. Jeetender and Sujal picked 3 wickets each while Ajay and Salim claimed 2 wickets each.
Earlier in the first match on Wednesday, G. Mhiasiu School defeated St Marys Higher Secondary School by three wickets.
St. Mary HSS deciding to bat first managed to score 99 runs with all 10 wickets back in the pavilion in 20.3 overs. Lalkishan(33) and Sumit Bhagat (24) were the notable run-getters for St. Mary’s while Kivika and Kaviti returned with 2 wickets each.
G. Mhaisiu were able to get past the target in just 15.1 overs scoring 100/7 with Mastufa top-scoring with 35 runs. Pankaj Yadav had 2 wickets for St. Mary’s.
