SDO (Electrical) office shut since Feb 27; DPDB Phek seeks resolution

Phek, March 17 (MExN): The closure of the SDO (Electrical) office at Phek headquarters since February 27 emerged as one of the key issues taken up during the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting held in Phek on March 17, with the board seeking an early resolution.

The issue was raised by SDO (Electrical), Er Nukhosa Chizo, who informed that the office was shut down by individuals claiming ownership of the land on which it stands.

Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Rhosietho Nguori urged the concerned department to initiate steps to resolve the matter. 

The SDO (Electrical) informed that negotiations are currently underway with the landowners to arrive at an amicable settlement.

On the issued Additional Deputy Commissioner Pfutsero, Mhalo Humtsoe also advised that any agreement be formalised in accordance with existing government policies, considering the seriousness of the issue.

The meeting also deliberated on the Viksit Nagaland @2047 Vision Document, with ADC Phek Thejakhrienuo Nisa briefing members on a communication from the State Planning & Transformation Department regarding a proposed workshop for its preparation.

Accordingly, the House appointed conveners for the five pillars of the Vision Document: District Agriculture Officer for Economic Development; Chief Medical Officer for Social Development; District Forest Officer for Environmental Sustainability; Executive Engineer, Pfutsero, for Infrastructure; and ADC Phek for Governance and Institutional Strengthening.

As per the State DIPR, Zhoi Lohe, Project Director, DRDA, and Vivose Kera, Assistant Urban Development Officer, also presented updates on departmental activities during the meeting.
