SDSA reaffirms over NE fest ban

Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) and its units have reaffirmed that they will adhere by their decision effectively to stop the NE Youth Festival 2011 to be held in Senapati District. The event has been organised by Youth Initiative Foundation (YIF).
According to the press statement by the union’s president A Pfokrehrii Khrasi, stated that even in the past months it had intimidated through local newspapers that it will ban the event.
“Recalling the Presidential and Executive Council meeting of the SDSA in this regard, the house unanimously decided to ban the said event in the larger interest of the Student’s fraternity and other serious issues occurred in the past years by the organizers. Maintaining that, the SDSA and SDWA in a joint statement in the past dated 15th November, 2010 has reminded the YIF to change the venue, But sadly, the said YIF till date has responded negatively and challengingly by putting up hoardings, advertisements and printing programmes against the decision of the SDSA,” it stated.
It has also warned the organizers and all the participating individuals/groups, that the SDSA should not be held responsible for any consequences arising out of the confrontations during the said event at Senapati District H/Q.
