
Phek, March 27 (MExN): The Secheku Baptist Church Council (SBCC) under Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) organized elder’s conference on March 25 and 26 at Sakraba village.
A press release issued by Kuduhuto Dazo, Chairman, SBCC Pfütsero Phek informed that the conference resolved to “stand against the intrusion of alien culture found detrimental to our faith and way of life into Christendom for we are chosen by God, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Nagas out of sheer grace. Therefore, we the present generation and the generation to come will not worship any other idol except the Creator of the Universe God Jehovah.”
The conference was attended by elders aged 75 years and above numbering 108 from 15 villages. The conference unanimously resolved to declare that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour, and shall continue to worship and serve Him alone in gratitude for His mercies and manifold blessings showered upon the successive generation.
The conference resolved to uphold the traditional and cultural values handed down to us from ancestors which are found Comparable within scriptural sphere. The most notable characteristics are the sense of fear, the sense of shame and the sense of taboo.
The main speaker was Rev. Dr. V.K. Nuh Former Executive Secretary, CBCC. Who spoke extensively on the value of elderly citizen. For elderly citizens including Z. Lohe Former Speaker, NLA exhorted the gathering on the first night. The gazette officers from 15 villages attended the Sunday Service on March 16. Deo Nukhu, parliamentary secretary, Kekhwengulo Lea president Chakhesang Public Organization and Kelhizülo Mero Retired Teacher also greeted the gathering. Dutsonü Dazo, 95 years old from Sakraba village invoked the blessing as per “tradition.”
