Second highest daily spike takes Nagaland’s COVID-19 total to 330

Nagaland saw its second highest single-day spike of new COVID-19 confirmed cases with 50 samples testing positive on Tuesday morning taking the state’s total tally to 330. 


This came a day after the state reported the highest daily spike of 69 cases on June 22. 


“Out of 312 samples tested, 50 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have been reported. 24 patients from Dimapur QC, 14 from Kohima QC & 12 from Peren QC,” informed a Twitter update by State’s Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom on June 23.  The status was as of June 23, 8:30 AM, he added. 


7 districts in Nagaland – Dimapur, Kohima, Peren, Phek, Mon, Zunheboto and Tuensang - have so far reported one or more cases of COVID-19.


Updates on Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard on Tuesday morning informed that out of 330 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nagaland, 189 were designated as active. 


The rest - 141 were designated as recovered, denoting a recovery rate of 42.72%.


Out of the 330 total cases, 226 were males and 105 females. Most of the cases were in the 18 - 44 years age group at 310, followed by 10 in 0 – 17 years and 9 in 45 – 64 years age bracket. There was a single case among 65 - 74 years cohort.
