Kohima, June 15 (MExN): The second ‘Know Your Men, Know Your DGP’ was held on June 14 with the DGP Nagaland, Rupin Sharma (IPS) and senior police officers at conference hall of PHQ here.
The purpose of the interaction is to know and share the personal grievances of police personnel, a press release stated.
A total of 34 personnel from various units, especially those who are on the verge of retirement from service attended the interaction.
The personnel raised issues such as maintenance of proper entry and rectification of particulars in the service sheet/book, repair/renovation and maintenance of jawan barracks and proper security fencing, regular supply of water and provision of good condition water tanker vehicle, enhancement of special allowances in the new ROP, repair/renovation of government quarters in various units, expediting the process of pension papers, and issuing standard quality clothing items.
The jawans requested there should be an open recruitment for appointments of Constable and regular Central Promotion Test (CPT) in all units in order to boost their morale and motivation, the release said. They also requested to set up a rehab centre for alcoholics and drug addicts, especially for police personnel.
Moreover, the police personnel suggested that a compulsory Hindi course, which is felt necessary, should be imparted during basic training. They appreciated the DGP for the TA/DA distribution during the just concluded Lok Sabha bye-election in Nagaland.
The DGP, according to the release, assured that the issues discussed will be looked into and matters requiring further actions will be intimated to the government.
He also highlighted the various facilities that can be availed by opening of Central Police Canteens, which will become functional soon, all over the units.
Further, he extended appreciation to all the personnel who attended the interaction and requested them to perform their duties with devotion and sincerity.
