The Secretary of North Eastern Council, H. P Lalringa who arrived here today for a two day visit to Nagaland inspected the NEC funded NE Agri-Expo site, Referral Hospital and the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Dimapur. The General Manager, Nagaland State Transport P.Angami said that it has placed proposal before the NEC Secretary to release more fund for the construction of two ISBT at Kohima and Mokokchung. The NEC in 2005 has released 1.53 crores and 90 lakhs for Kohima and Mokokchung ISBT construction respectively. The Department is facing difficulties in starting the construction of ISBTs due to land disputes said P.Angami but, he added, the construction will begin as soon as the land dispute is solved which is expected to start at the end of this month in Kohima and that of Mokokchung by next month.
The NEC Secretary, Lalringa also inaugurated the NEC funded Youth Hall cum Library at Eastern Christian College, Padumpukhuri. Speaking at the occasion Lalringa asked the institution to teach students based on moral values. He appreciated the Administrator, the staff and the faculties and said that establishing and running an institution was not easy. Lalringa said that medical health, education and food are the most viable in human society. Pointing out the South East Asian countries he said, “there are so many things to be done in this part of the world and all this will be possible only through education.” He further encouraged the institution to go on with great enthusiasm for more success.
He will visit the Industrial Growth Centre, at Ganeshnagar tomorrow and will proceed to Kohima to inspect other NEC funded projects.
