Security forces coordinate with DoHFW in fight against COVID-19

Kohima, July 3 (MExN): The Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) has been at the helm of all affairs pertaining to COVID-19 since its outbreak in the State of Nagaland. As proactive measures, the Minister and the Department officials have established a close coordination with both civil and security forces medical facilities.

According to the PRO Defence, the quarantine facilities falling under the jurisdiction of Security Forces (Indian Army, Assam Rifles, CAPF etc) were inspected by the competent authorities of the DoHFW to ensure uniform implementation of standards, protocols and advisories as per laid down Central Government regulations.

These quarantine facilities have been observed to be maintaining high standards of medical safety and treatment. All persons entering Nagaland, including Security Forces personnel, their dependents and transients are being stringently screened for COVID-19 at the point of their entry into the State.

Details of all such individuals are also being shared laterally with the aim to curb the disease at the earliest. The public has been advised to not fall victim to "certain unscrupulous elements of society vying to spread rumours and disinformation."
