Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation involving a “fire fight against banned outfit NSCN-K (YA)” at Sangsa village, Mon district recovered two sophisticated weapons, one HK Assault Rifle and one Lathode Launcher along with ammunition.
PRO (Def) Kohima, Lt Col Sumit K Sharma informed in a press release that “the well-coordinated operation ensured that there was no collateral damage to any civilians or property.”
“The outfit is exposing unsuspecting villagers to COVID besides resorting to extortion and kidnappings of locals already suffering due to the pandemic,” it alleged while adding that the recovered arms and ammunition have been handed over to Tizit Police Station.
Drug peddler arrested
Meanwhile, Security Forces in a joint operation with police apprehended a drug peddler at general area Old Showba, Dimapur district on July 5.
Based on a specific input, the team apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 690 SP tablet and one soapcase of Brown Sugar worth Rs 29,250 at Old Showba, an update from HQ IGAR (N) reported. The apprehended individual along with the recovered has been handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur district for further investigation, it stated.
