Kohima, February 24 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan has extended greetings to the Angami brothers and sisters on the occasion of the Sekrenyi Festival. “This sacred time, deeply rooted in our rich cultural heritage, signifies a period of purification, sanctification, and the fostering of unity. As you partake in the festive rituals and collective feasting, I salute you for the profound sense of community that the Sekrenyi embodies,” the Governor said in a press note.
“May the bonds of kinship that you reinforce today become the enduring pillars of understanding and harmony both within your vibrant community and with the varied communities that surround you. I wish you all a jubilant, rewarding, and spiritually enriching Sekrenyi. May the festivities invigorate your souls, bind your community tighter, and echo your proud identity to the world. God bless Nagaland,” he conveyed.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton also greeted the Angami Nagas on the occasion of Sekrenyi. Patton said that the festival is celebrated for sanctification and purification of the mind and the body.
Stressing on the importance of upholding the traditions and values passed down through generations, Patton said that festivals like this should bring people together in fostering friendship and unity.
On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed festive greetings and hope that it is celebrated with great joy and grandeur.
