The tenure of the Select Committee on the Nagaland Lokayukta Bill 2015 under rule 230 (1) has been extended with instructions to present its report within six months.
Parliamentary Secretary for Housing Er. Levi Rengma, who is also chairman of the Select Committee, moved motion for extension of the tenure of the committee during the sixteenth (Special) Session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly here today.
Other members of the committee include Parliamentary Secretary R. Tohanba, Parliamentary Secretary C. Apok Jamir, Parliamentary Secretary Pukhayi and Treasuries & Accounts, Relief & Rehabilitation Advisor Dr. TM Lotha.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu made obituary reference on the passing away of late Anil Madhav Dave, a sitting Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate.
Dave died on May 18 due to cardiac arrest at New Delhi.
The house observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
NLA speaker Dr. Imtiwapang Aier said that the grief expressed by the House will be conveyed to the bereaved families by NLA Commissioner & Secretary N. Benjamin Newmai.
NLA Commissioner & Secretary reported the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on the Nagaland Backward Tribes Commission Bill 2016, Nagaland Appropriation (No. 1) Bill 2017 and Nagaland Appropriation (No. 2) Bill 2017.
Later, the Nagaland Police Manual & Amendment Rules 2014 was laid by Home Minister Yanthungo Patton.
Parliamentary Secretary for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services S. Chuba Longkumer laid the Nagaland Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act 2009 (Check Post and Quarantine Camp, Manner of Inspection, etc) Rules 2017.
After finishing all listed business, NLA speaker adjourned the session sine die.
