Kohima, April 20 (MExN): The functioning of Offices of the State Government will functions as per a Home Commissioner Office Memorandum issued on April 13, on order issued by Nagaland Chief Secretary on April 20 informed.

 

The April 13 Memorandum, in accordance with a  decision taken in the meeting of AHoD& HOD on the same day, called for resumption of offices, both in the Secretariat and Directorate of some departments whose activities of are considered necessary to provide essential services. 

 

The identified departments were: Home/ Medical/Finance/ Planning/ Power/ IT&C/ Agriculture & Allied Department/ Veterinary & AH/ PHED/ Social Welfare/ Fire & Emergency Services/ Home Guards & Civil Defence/ NIC/ DIPR/ Food & Civil Supplies.

 

These entities will identify the bare minimum staff and officers for ensuring that the department/directorate continues to function and provide essential services, it said.

 

All the above departments will work out and submit the names of officers and staff along with government registered vehicle numbers to the Home Department which will co-ordinate with DC/SP Kohima for issue of passes.

 

All other departments and directorates not mentioned above may nominate a nodal officer and two more staff who will co-ordinate and ensure the functioning of their offices so that all the essential and urgent matter pertaining to the department is looked after in time.

 

Only Government registered vehicles should be given and the concerned AHoD/HoD should make arrangements for transportation of their Officers and Staff in the designated vehicles of their departments/directorates, the Memorandum said.

 

All the AHoDs/HoDs will give necessary instructions on similar lines for the functioning of their respective offices in the districts and subdivisions, where the necessary coordination will be done by the concerned Deputy Commissioner.

 

Essential Service providers like BSNL & Private Telecom Services, Internet Service providers, Media, LPG, Banks & ATMs, Petroleum outlets, Treasury, Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards & Civil Defence, .Prisons, PHED, Power, NIC, DIPR, Postal, Services, Food & Civil Supplies, Social Welfare, IT&C, Municipalities/Councils, AIR, Doordarshan, Pharmacies, District Administration, Police and Medical shall continue as per previous arrangements.

 

Central and others offices

Meanwhile, the April 20 order also stated that Offices of the Government of India, its Autonomous/Subordinate Offices will function as per the guidelines issued the Ministry of Home Affairs order on April 15. Respective Deputy Commissioners may facilitate for movement of officers and staff, it said.

 

The MHA’s April 15 order stated that following Autonomous or Subordinate Offices of the Government of India will remain open and to function without any restriction:  Defence, Central Armed Police Forces, Health & Family Welfare, Disaster Management and Early Warning Agencies (IMD, INCIOS, SASE, and National Centre of Seismology, CWC), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Food Corporation of India (FCI), NCC, Nehru Yuva Kendras (NYKs) and Customs.

 

 “Other Ministries and Departments, and offices under their control, are to function with 100% attendance of Deputy Secretary and levels above that. Remaining officers and staff to attend upto 33% as per requirement,” the order stated.
