Sematilla Council on 33% reservation

Dimapur, May 27 (MExN): The public of Sematilla Colony informed that it held a general meeting on May 7, 2011 and it unanimously decided to include women as council members.  A press note issued by Khuwoto L.Chishi, chairman, Vikato Zhimo, GB, and Toikhu Assumi, secretary of Sematilla Council stated that this decision was not taken following the 33% reservation for women as proposed in the parliament.
“We are neither in favour nor against the reservation policy, but the inclusion of Mrs. Kanili Kinilimi and Mrs. Kaholi H. Chishi as council members were because of their foresighted wisdom and good judgment. They have always been an integral part of the society right from the beginning,” the note stated.
The Council mentioned that Mrs. Kanili Kinilimi served as the first chairperson of the Sematilla Council, while Mrs. Kaholi H. Chishi, is daughter of a veteran leader Lt. Dr Hokishe Sema, and who always played an active part on the upliftment of the colony. Besides, it is because of the untiring effort and incalculable advice of Lt. Dr Hokishe Sema that Sematilla colony is as it is today. “The public of Sematilla colony is indeed very fortunate to have such women as its members,” Sematilla Council stated.
