
Kohima, April 22 (MExN): A two-day long seminar on “The Battle of Kohima and its impact on India’s Freedom” is scheduled to be held on April 25 and 26 at Subhas Stayed House Compound, Ruzazho Village – the first INA Administered Village, under Phek District, Nagaland.
Under the aegis of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), the 2-day seminar is being organized by the Pfutsero Government College, Nagaland and jointly co-organized by the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Development Society (NSCBMDS), Nagaland and the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU).
According to a press statement Nagaland Governor PB Acharya and Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy will be the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively while Subenthung Kithan, President, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) will be the Special Guest at the valedictory session.
The resource speakers of the seminar includes, Maj. Gen. (Retd) Dr. GD. Bakshi, Dr. Purabi Roy, Member, ICHR, Dr. Tapan Chattopadhyay, Ph.D. & D.Litt. in History, Dr. Er. Vekho Swuro, Chairman, NSCBMDS & Independent Scholar, Nagaland, Abhijit Chaudhury, Retd. History Professor, St. Edmunds’ College, Shillong, Rev. Savito Nagi, Independent Scholar, Nagaland, Kamal Dutta, Principal, Pranabananda Vidyamandir, Hojai, Assam, Tavezo Latso, Asst. Professor, Pfutsero Government College and Zhokusheyi Rhakho, Asst. Professor, Phek Government College.
Two elders – Poswuyi Swuro (DB) of Ruzazho Village and Vezo Swuro (Informer) of Chesezu Village – who witnessed the stay of Subhas Chandra Bose and the INA troops at Ruzazho and Chesezu etc. will be felicitated by the organizers during the inaugural service.
