Dimapur, September 10 (MExN): As a part of a B. Ed course ‘Understanding the Self’ for enhancing the professional capacity (EPC) of teachers, a one day seminar was conducted at Unity College of Teacher Education on food, hygiene and health with a view to increase the student teachers’ knowledge related to one’s body, health and hygiene. Pelekhrienuo Kire, Dietitian and also lecture at nursing college was the resource person. Addressing the participants, Kire said that a balance diet is not a crash diet, it is a way of eating all the nutrition that our body needs in order to be healthy. Kire also discussed on the importance of eating wide variety of food in the right proportions and consuming the right amount of food and drinking to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. Group work and interaction session were also carried out during the seminar. A press release stated that the programme was concluded with the closing remarks by the principal, Dr. T. Yolila Sangtam of UCTE. Vote of thank by Emma from B. Ed 3rd semester. The seminar was well attended by the faculty and 157 B.Ed students.
