Kohima, June 17 (MExN): Model Christian College (MCC), Kohima organised a seminar on ‘Sexual Harassment and Bullying’ on June 15 at the college Auditorium.
A press release issued by the Principal of MCC Kohima, stated that the programme was chaired by Vekhwusalu Dawhuo, Supervisor, Women Helpline-181.Toli Assumi, Centre Administrator, Sakhi: One Stop Centre, gave an introduction to schemes like Women Helpline-181 and Sakhi: One Stop Centre, to help and support aggrieved women. Assumi also briefed about the different services available under OSC like emergency services, medical assistance and temporary shelter which are accessible to victims.
Zakato Chishi, a Lawyer by profession talked about sexual harassment and bullying at workplaces. He stressed on how sexual harassment at workplaces is “overlooked most times because of intimidation.” He also highlighted the legal provisions under IPC against ragging and bullying and emphasized on the importance of setting up Anti Ragging Committee and Anti Ragging Squad in institutions.
