Seminar on Red Cross movement held

Dimapur, April 1 (DIPR): A seminar on Red Cross Movement and Basic First Aid was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference hall on March 29, 2011 with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, T. Kiheto Sema as the chief guest. The Deputy Commissioner in his speech highlighted the meaning of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and said that the IRCS functions independently, neutrally and there is no political interference. He also lamented over the poor performance of IRCS last year but commented this year’s performance as good. The DC also encouraged the students to come forward and extend their help and support in times of crisis or natural calamities. The Vice Chairman IRCS Zunheboto, H.S. Rotokha also highlighted the function and duties of IRCS.
Resource person, Dr. Hokishe Sema, Deputy aCMO and Managing Committee member, spoke on the topic ‘Basic First Aid’ and ADC Planning, K. Sekhamo spoke on ‘Red Cross Movement and Emblem’. Earlier Pastor SBC Zunheboto, Shekheto invoked God’s blessing while welcome address was delivered by MO and Managing Committee Member, Dr. Nitovi Shikhu. The seminar was attended by students from Government College Zunheboto, Nito Theological College, Zunheboto and Managing
Committee Members.
