Wokha, November 30 (MExN): The District Administration in collaboration with Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH), Social Welfare and Medical Department organized a seminar on sensitization of girl child on education of health issues. The programme was conducted under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme 2018.
Resources persons were President LEH Zuchobeni Ezong, Sr. Supervisor, CDPO office, Wokha Erenbeni and Psychologist NCTP, Abeni T Kikon.
EAC, Englan, Echungbemo Erui while addressing the gathering dwelled on the importance of BBBP scheme in empowering girl child and urged parents to give equal opportunity to both male and female child in education and any other field of activities as children are equally important.
He further stated that it’s time for all to change our mindset and give effort in empowering girl child because they have the potential to contribute to the society. The EAC also appealed to the gathering to spread awareness to friends and family members about the Government initiative in empowering and promoting girl child under BBBP scheme.
The resource persons also shared their ideas and opinions on the theme such as issues of women’s role and contribution in the society.
During the function sanitary kits/pack were distributed. The function was chaired by Cultural Secretary LEH Rachano Kithan, welcome address was delivered by Finance Secretary LEH Thungchano Kikon while vote of thanks was proposed by President, Eloe Ekhung Riphyim Old. Around 170 participants took part during the seminar.
