Dimapur, March 26 (MExN): One day Seminar for Village functionaries and Church leaders was held on March 24, 2011 at Meluri Village Council hall. The programme was organized by Social welfare Society for Rural development (SOWSORD, PBCC) in collaboration with State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), government of Nagaland.
A press note issued by L.C.Puli, Director, SOWSORD office Wezihu informed that Peter Lichamo ADC, Meluri, spoke on the topic “The concept of development”, Velu-o Shijo, Joint Director, SIRD Kohima, on “The feasibility and viability of Government Scheme in relation to Rural development and The role and the advantage of Leaders to play for developing rural areas” and Dr. Jutsütho Phoji, Research Officer, (SIRD) Kohima, on “The accessibility of government Schemes and means for rural development”. The programme was attended by all the VCCs, VDB Secretaries, church Leaders and NGO’s of Pochury. The note also stated that all the delegates were greatly benefited from the said Seminar. The SOWSORD on behalf of the organizing Committee and on behalf of the all the delegates extend gratitude to all the speakers, department of SIRD and the government of Nagaland for their concern for the rural people. SOWSORD also thank all the participants in the programme and delegates for making the programme a success.
