Wokha, November 17 (MExN): Under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, the District Administration organized one-day seminar on well being of Girls with special emphasis on menstrual hygiene on November 17 at Town Hall, Wokha with Dr Nounenuo Terhase, Gynecologist and Ex-President Lotha Eloe Hoho, Mhonchumi Humtsoe as resource persons.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS while addressing the seminar, stressed on the importance of educating girl child where he stated that by doing so the child can be empowered to become a productive member of the society as a successful individual.
The resource persons enlightened the gathering on the importance of maintaining proper menstrual hygiene. President Lotha Eloe Hoho, Zuchobeni also delivered short speech during the seminar. Adolescent Girls Group, Gilgal School Wokha presented a skit.
Later discussion with the resource persons was held followed by distribution of sanitary pads. The function was chaired by District Project Associate, NSDMA, Mercy Kithan while vote of thanks was proposed by SDO (C) Wokha, Chonpenthung Ezung.
