‘Sendenyu has vast developmental potential’

Levi lays foundation stone for tourist reception centre

Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Deputy Speaker, Er. Levi Rengma today stated that Sendenyu area possesses vast potential for undertaking various developmental activities and expressed hope that the state government would provide the required fund for the same. He said this on the sideline of Tseminyu Sub Divisional Planning & Development Board meeting.

The Deputy Speaker also laid a foundation stone for a tourist reception centre at Nsonji, Sendenyu.
Speaking on the occasion, he assured that the project will become a reality soon and expressed optimism that the government will give a positive signal to expedite the work.
Subscribing good road connectivity as the basic tool for all round development, the deputy speaker assured that he would take up the matter with the PWD. He lamented that the people of the area have never seen a black top road in the area since the statehood.

Er. Levi added that a meeting of Tseminyu SDPDB was held at Nsonji, Sendenyu to enable the members to get a glimpse of the vast potential in agriculture, biodiversity conservation, horticulture etc.

Gwasinlo Thong, Chairman of Sendenyu Village Community Biodiversity Conservation said that Nsonji project was developed by Sendenyu Baptist Church and its vision is to set up a tourist spot here.

Kohima DRDA Project Director Chandeno made a presentation at the meeting on the activities of the rural development department in the state. Several officers including Rengma Hoho president Sawathang Kez Seb also attended the meeting.

Earlier, after a power point presentation made by Dr. Gwalozu Thong, the Sendenyu Chipwen Union (SCU) submitted memorandum to Er. Levi Rengma for upgradation of sub centre Sendenyu village to PHC, augmentation of Sendenyu village water supply from Dzükenta, seeking SDPB’s recommendation for establishment of Nra Model Village and construction of tourist trekking route at Sendenyu Community Biodiversity Conservation area.
The memorandum was signed by SCU President, Nnoseng Thong Seb.
