“Don’t forget where you came from and never lose sight of where you’re going,” was the underlined message when Miss Asia Pacific Super Talent India 2016 Imlibenla Wati initiated a free medical camp at her native village of Changki under Mokokchung district on October 10. The beauty queen organized the health camp under the theme ‘caring for my roots’ in association with Big Break Entertainment.
The medical team for the camp was led by Dr. I. Teka Pongener MBBS, Dr. Kilang Wabang Pongener MBBS (MD), Dr. Sentila MBBS, Dr. Rachel MBBS and Dr. Moala AYUSH.
A total of 353 patients were treated at the camp who was mostly elderly citizens of the village, the oldest patient being a 96-year old reverend. The camp was planned exclusively for senior citizens above the age of 60 but several younger people including some children also turned up to avail the facility whom the doctors treated.
Imlibenla Wati on the sidelines of the health camp thanked the Changki Village Council for cooperating with her in organizing the event while also seeking the support and prayers of the villagers in her endeavours. She also added that Changki was always close to her heart and that she is first a citizen of Changki village, further adding that today’s free health camp was an act of her love for Changki.
The health camp was held at Orija Salang, the village’s community hall. Eager patients were already waiting in the venue when her entourage arrived. Imlibenla and the team of doctors were warmly welcomed by the village councillors. The health camp began at 10:00 am with a prayer pronounced by the village’s pastor after a customary exchange of pleasantries.
Imlibenla Wati will be representing India at the Miss Super Talent World contest, formerly known as Miss Asia Pacific World. The world acclaimed beauty pageant is scheduled to be held in Korea later this year.
