‘Senior Most Secy’ of GPRN/NSCN passes away

Collective Leaders extend condolence for Khekahoto Yeputho

Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The Collective Leadership, GPRN/NSCN has condoled the demise of Khekahoto Yeputho, Secretary, Transport & Communications, GPRN/NSCN on April 21 in Dimapur. 

GPRN/NSCN, President, Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser, N Kitovi Zhimomi in a press release stated that the prolonged illness and demise of Khekahoto Yeputho “is an irreplaceable loss to us in particular and to the entire rank and file of GPRN/NSCN.”

“We recall he was a teenager when he joined the national service in 1995 but the zeal to serve the Naga nation was his only ambition. We are truly grateful for his incredible service to the Naga nation but we are devastated and heartbroken at his passing away. He was an all weather comrade; steadfast, unwavering and committed; A stirring example that a man’s principle can withstand the lure of money and multiple defections. We are very proud to know he was the senior most Secretary of the GPRN/NSCN at the time of his demise,” they stated. 

It stated that between 1995 to 2004, he served the Naga Army with distinction, steadily rising from the rank of Private to Lieutenant. After transitioning to the secretariat, he served as Secretary of Sumi Region and subsequently held many important secretarial assignments such as Law & Justice Secretary, Cease-fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) Secretary, Alee Affairs Secretary, National Tatar Hoho (NTH) Secretary and Transport & Communications Secretary. 

“He was lured and enticed to defect from GPRN/NSCN many times but a committed man he was and therefore he brushed aside these invitations and stood firm like a rock till his last breath. Today, we have lost a courageous leader,” they stated. 

Collective Leadership, GPRN/NSCN has conveyed prayer to his wife, Khekahoto, children and loved ones. “The Naga nation has lost a dutiful son. Beloved comrade Khekahoto Yeputho, Rest in Peace!” they added. 

Meanwhile, a condolence message issued by the MIP, GPRN/NSCN stated that ever since Khekahoto joined the service, ‘he continued to serve steadfastly in the Secretariat field in various capacities and displayed unwavering competency and sincerity in all the responsibilities assigned upon him throughout his 28 years of national service till his last breath.’

‘Besides, being a capable and dedicated patriot, Khekahoto was also a simple and compassionate man. GPRN/NSCN conveys respect and honour upon him for his service and sacrifices for the Naga nation,’ it stated. It also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
