
Wokha, December 7 (MExN): A meeting between a central team of NSCN (IM) officials led by the Steering Committee Convener Major (Retd) Hutovi Chishi and Lotha Hoho was held at the Village Chairman Conference Hall, Wokha Town on December 4.
At the meeting chaired by Lotha Hoho Mhondamo Ovung, the Convenor, Steering Committee Major (Retd) Chishi gave an exhaustive historical outline of the Naga National Movement since its inception till the present day and the pivotal role being played by the NSCN, a press release informed.
Recalling the many historical events that took place in Lotha Territory and the key role played by many Lothas in the course of the Naga National Struggle, he called upon the community not to fall prey to the divisive forces at play, said the release issued by the Caretaker/CAO Lotha Region GPRN, Chichamo Tsanglao.
Besides the Convenor, the central team comprising of Speaker Tatar Hoho, Ashiho Asoumi; Steering Committee Executive Member V Horam; Convenor, Ceasefire Monitoring Cell, Kihoi Swu; Defence Secretary Er Akaho Swu and PRO Colonel Vikato Achumi attended the meeting initiated by the NSCN/GPRN, it said.
According to the release, further dwelling upon the “Framework agreement and competencies," the Steering Committee Executive Member, Horam elaborated on the contents of the agreement and divulged the details envisaged by the NSCN (IM) in the final 'Solution' with the Government of India.
The Speaker Tatar Hoho, Asoumai also outlined the stance of the NSCN (IM) with regard to 'Reconciliation' and a detailed compendium of journey of reconciliation initiated by the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) was provided to the house, it said.
On the topic of "Pan Naga Hoho,” the Convenor, Ceasefire Monitoring Cell, Swu explained concept in detail.
“Taking into consideration the problem being faced by India in integrating all Naga inhabited areas under the dominion of the present state of India, the idea of a “Pan Naga Hoho" has been conceptualised to serve as a platform for the promotion of common Naga interests until such time as physical integration of all Naga inhabited areas is made possible,” he elaborated.
The Chairperson of the meeting Ovung, meanwhile, informed the house that no written memorandum had been prepared for submission to the central team by the Hoho.
However various grievances of the Lothas in general were communicated to the Leaders which were duly noted and acknowledged by the NSCN/GPRN officials, the release said.
Ovung further stated that there is no dispute on whatever had been apprised and that the Lotha people welcome and accept a solution that is honourable and acceptable for the Nagas in general, it added.
Earlier, the meeting began with invocation by Mhhonlumo Humtso, Executive Membe, Member, Lotha Hoho and the chairperson after extending his welcome to visiting team andself introduction handed over the proceedings of the meeting to the senior NSCN/CPRN officials.
